Marshall Jefferson Launches Kickstarter Campaign To Fund Album
Marshall Jefferson needs no introduction at all but in case you’re new to this here game, we’ll give him one anyway. One of dance music’s true pioneers, Marshall masterminded a number of House music’s seminal releases with his Trax Records anthem ‘Move Your Body’ the first track to feature the piano as a key element. Working under a number of aliases such as Jungle Wonz and Hercules, Marshall has a career spanning over 100 singles and four LPs and was as relevant as ever in 2015 as he embarked upon an extensive tour schedule and joined Seth Troxler in the studio.
“Yes, yes he’s a legend but why are you telling us this now?” we hear you cry. Well the answer is simple. Marshall needs your help. No he doesn’t need a kidney (although we’d happily sacrifice one of ours or at the very least an interns to get him on the mend) he wants to press his latest album to vinyl and has taken to Kickstarter to fund its release.
Co-produced with House enigma Sleezy D – who Jefferson insists is a separate and entirely real person – the album is already recorded, but Jefferson needs $10,000 to press it to vinyl either as a triple or quadruple album, “with great album art and a story.”
Offering downloads, merchandise and a custom built microphone by Marshall himself you check out his campaign video below.
