Way back on the old site, we tipped Belgian DJ and producer Locked Groove for big things. And several years on he hasn’t disappointed with a string of high quality releases on Turbo and Hotflush coupled with series of cool and imaginative sets along the way he is certainly living up to the early promise we saw in his work.

Yes the young Belgian producer Tim Van De Meutter had a big 2013. After emerging from relative obscurity to critical acclaim via a series of excellent releases on both Tiga’s Turbo Recordings and Scuba’s Hotflush before smashing a series of podcasts and live broadcasts Locked Groove firmly established himself as one of the most talented new producers in the scene.

Releasing not only across a series of labels but a series of genres from Deep House to drumcode-esque Techno, Locked Groove then decided to take the next logical step and form his own imprint which as a eponymously named vinyl only outlet further added to his already formidable reputation.

Now Tim has quietly gone about having an equally successful 2014, kicking off with the release of a two track 12” on We Play House and today revealed plans to follow up that release with a new 2 track effort on his own eponymous imprint.

Set to land May 5 and entitled “Rave Alerts” b/w “Dialogues”  the 12″ is said to serve as the sequel to last year’s “Waves” b/w “Shirts Off” which was also released on his own label.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
