Lifelike adapts Giorgio Moroder’s ‘The Chase’ for 2018

Club Sweat has announced its latest signing, Lifelike.

From his studio in Paris, Lifelike created one of dance music’s seminal tracks, ‘Discopolis’ together with Kris Menace, and has carved an international following for his classic French sound ever since and is one of the pioneers of ‘French Touch’ and the modern nu-disco sound.

He has taken one of the true pioneers of electronic dance music, Giorgio Moroder’s song ‘The Chase’ (which celebrates its 40th Anniversary this year) and adapted 1978 classic to the modern dancefloor – which we premiere today.

Lifelike says “Giorgio Moroder was the first producer to use only synthesizers to make music and he was a big influence for me. Together with Kris Menace, I was lucky enough to remix the track ’74 Is The New 24’ from his last album, which was a nice moment for me. ‘The Chase’ is one of his best-known tracks and is a great example of how he uses synthesizers to create a groove and unforgettable riff. What people may not know is that ’The Chase’ is 40 years old this year, so, I thought this was the perfect time for me to cover it and celebrate this classic. My version is designed for the dancefloor and focuses more on the main groove and atmosphere of the original. I hope you like it!”

A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
