French producer Kangding Ray has announced that his new album for Raster-Noton, Cory Arcane will drop later this year .
Recent years, have seen the artist exhibited on a number sturdy techno labels such with the likes of Lucy’s Stroboscopic Artefacts and Mondkopf’s In Paradisium regularly housing his work but the Frenchman’s album duties lie where his heart has always been – Raster-Noton.
The experimental producer has scored successes through the label – founded by Olaf Bender and Frank Bretschneider in 1996 – before, beginning his relationship with the outlet almost a decade ago with the release of Stabil and then successively releasing albums in 2008, 2011 and 2014. It has been interesting following the curvature of Kangding Ray’s musical journey, with his focus leant on the ‘uglier’ side of sound design. Something of a unique talent, his sound often choosing to shine a light on the more abrasive side of the sonic spectrum and his new material follows suit, showcasing his varied, yet finely-honed abilities over nine tracks.
Lining up as Raster Noton’s 167th release, ‘Cory Arcane’ comes with album art, complete with prose following an anti-heroine’s turmoil in the modern age, arriving on CD, double vinyl and digitally October 30th. Check out the trailer for the album below.
