Jeff Mills to perform with Melbourne Symphony Orchestra

Detroit techno kingpin Jeff Mills will join this year’s Melbourne Festival in October, performing his ‘Light From The Outside World’ classical work with the city’s world famous orchestra.Having already performed with the Orchestre National d’Ile-de-France, Mills will partner up with conductor Christophe Mangou and the 60 piece Melbourne Symphony Orchestra at Hamer Hall on October 10th. In keeping with Mills’ background, ‘Light From The Outside World’ incorporates elements of electronica, jazz and classical over its 90 minute duration.Melbourne Festival takes place October 10th-26th, click here for more information.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
