Jeff Mills & Derrick May To Perform With The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra

Detroit techno moguls Jeff Mills and Derrick May have announced that they will perform with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra on January 30th, 2016.

Two of the Motor City’s most pioneering producers, each artist will deliver an individual set with the ensemble at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl with Mills presenting a new live work created in collaboration with French composer Thomas Roussel and May performing a new piece titled ‘Music is Music.’

Running from dusk until 11pm, it’s not the first time Mills has joined forces with the MSO, having previously teamed up with world renowned orchestra  for a live rendition of his neo-classical work, ‘Light From The Outside World’ at the 2014 edition of The Melbourne Festival.

Jeff isn’t the only one of the two have previous with orchestral collaboration; between them they have shared the stage individually with Montpellier National Orchestra, L’Orchestre National d’Ile de France, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra and Detroit Symphony Orchestra with each performance receiving critical acclaim.
