James Murphy Penning Broadway Show

Is there a busier man in music right now than DFA founder and head honcho James Murphy? Since disbanding the incredibly popular LCD Soundsystem in 2011 the former frontman of the group has been filling up his CV working on projects with Arcade Fire, Pulp, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Kathleen Hanna’s The Julie Ruin in addition to launching a court case against former DFA partner Tim Goldsworthy and designing his own custom soundsystem.

Not content with that the talented Mr. Murphy is now set to take to Broadway as he has revealed he is to pen an original musical accompaniment to Mike Nichols’ production of Harold Pinter’s Betrayal. Set to star Hollywood actors Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz; previews begin on October 1st before the show formally opens on October 27th and we’re eager to see what James has conjured up for the new production. Interesting stuff.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
