James Burton returns to Of Unsound Mind with another record oozing attitude and soul.

James career booted off in style with his debut release ‘That Sounds Sick!’ on Darius Syrossian’s Do Not Sleep ‘Ibiza Sampler’ in 2017. Since then, Burton has offered up visionary takes on house and techno through respected imprints Four Thirty Two, Kaluki Musik, New Violence Recordings, Shanghaied. In addition to becoming a member of the Skream family with regular releases on his imprint.

The whole EP follows a narrative of funky and soulful old school vocals, rumbling tech bottom ends with a house-infused mid-range made up of Detroit inspired chordy stabs, and fresh sounding drum grooves. James Burton was inspired by the old school piano house tracks and classic house sounds of yesteryear with his own inimitable twist.

The lead track from the EP ‘Keys, Notes & Scales’ has already received heavy support on BBC Radio 1 from Annie Mac and label boss Skream, who then went on to sign the track off the back of him premiering the track on Pete Tong’s show back in December.
