After impressing with last summer’s album Aerotropolis we were pleased earlier this month to hear that undisputed bass queen and Hyperdub affiliate Ikonika had revealed plans to release a new EP for the imprint this summer. Entitled ‘Position’ the release is billed as juxtaposing “dusty, old-school sounds and shinier new ones” on the new cuts, whilst Perc and Alex Deamonds have been drafted in to rework tracks from the 2013 LP ‘Mega Church’ and ‘You Won’t Find It Here’ for the forthcoming EP.

With ‘Position’ due August 25th, Ikonika has now released a little early treat, streaming new track ‘Praxis’. Packed with chiming neon synths, but calmed by a lazy pace, ‘Praxis’ leaves us with high hopes for the full release. Listen below:

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
