As we move in to the second week of 2017, the Ibiza rumours for 2017 have already kicked off. With the closure of Space last year, it leaves some pretty big players without homes for 2017.
Let’s start with Carl Cox, who famous ended his residency at the end of last year and as part of that process said he would be cutting down his appearances this year. On NYD he sported a ‘Pure Carl Cox Ibiza 2017’ T-Shirt at Tobacco Dock (see below), on the back of the shirt it had the Gameover Logo (these are the guys, who hosted is After Party for the Closing Revolution Party at Benimussa Park, near San Antonio) so only time will tell, where these parties are going to be – maybe back at Benimussa Park or maybe somewhere else, we can say for sure its always a privilege seeing Carl Cox play records in Ibiza and we are sure these will be gigantic parties!
Next up of the homeless parties is one of Data Transmission favourite parties Do Not Sleep, Darius Syrossian’s residency on the island, which started at Vista Club, then moved in to Space for the closing year (who wouldn’t have gone to Space for the Closing Year) will obviously now be on the move again. Danny Kay Ibiza seems to think that home could be Amnesia stating “It will be no more than the party deserves, as it attracts a loyal underground following that will also interest David Vincent at Sankeys and maybe one or two other venues. With much of the Amnesia schedule yet to be signed off on Ibiza 2017, the addition of Do Not Sleep and Darius Syrossian to its weekly line up, will no doubt add to the parties growing stature on the island.” We think this would be great fit for the brand and can see this working massive for both parties.
Next up, DJ Mag recently reported Marco Carola’s Music On party series might not be held at Amnesia nightclub during this year’s Ibiza season, a reliable source has revealed, the source stated that a recent meeting between Music On and the venue “wasn’t conclusive” and that the popular party “didn’t confirm their presence in Amnesia for 2017”.
Finally for now, Space as we reported the other day, the iconic Ibiza club Space will keep its name in 2017, said Ushuaïa owner Abel Matutes Juan. We will of course update as we find out more.
