And the exciting album just keeps on coming. In a summer that has seen full studio efforts from a plethora of our favourite artists from Lone to Luke Abbott we’ve been spoilt for choice on the album front in 2014. Thus it says a lot about the esteem we hold Gui Boratto in that the announcement of his new album on German techno institution Kompakt Records is our most hotly anticipated record of the year.

After teasing us with a slew of high quality 12” singles for the past few years, we’ll admit we were beginning to wonder if the techno aficionado was going to treat us to full length album ever again and so are delighted at news that Gui will be following up his 2011 offering ‘III’ with a new LP entitled ABAPORU.

Slated to arrive on September 29, the new 13 track effort is said to take inspiration from Brazil’s most famous modernist painting “Abaporu” by early 20th century artist Tarsilo Do Amaral, drawing influence  “from the rich history of Brazilian modern art, where European and indigenous influences would collide in the most exciting manner.” Preceded by new single ‘Joker’ which lands August 4 and comes backed by remixes from Kompakt boss Michael Mayer and label affiliate Dave DK, fans can get a sneak peak at the album by streaming the new single/album cut below.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
