We’re not sure what to do with ourselves at the moment as the onslaught of fresh albums being released by some of our favourite artists shows no sign of abating this summer as experimental duo Fuck Buttons have confirmed that they’ll also be dropping a new full length studio effort on us this summer. It’s been several years since Benjamin John Power and Andrew Hung caught our attention with 2009’s Andrew Weatherall produced ‘Tarot Sport’ and we’re glad to see the guys back in the fold. Entiltled ‘Slow Focus’  the upcoming release is their first self-produced LP, and as with their previous two albums, it’ll be released through ATP Recordings.

When quizzed on the motivation behind the new record and its title Power explains the concept behind the release as “Slow Focus seemed like a very apt title when considering the sentiment of the music It almost feels like the moment your eyes take to readjust when waking, and realizing you’re in a very unusual and not a particularly welcoming place. We like to think that we create our own new landscapes, and with this it’s a very alien one.”  With plans to unveil a new live show and a tour to support the album across Europe and the UK things certainly seem to be looking up for Fuck Buttons and we hope to catch them at some point over the summer.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
