Fis inaugurates London’s Loopy imprint

fis-speechspirits.jpgFis is set to launch new London-based label Loopy with his Speech Spirits EP.

The Kiwi experimentalist – who first came to light following his pioneering, deconstructed drum & bass work for Samurai and Exit – uses the inaugural release to move yet further away from his seemingly unwanted D&B classification. Following on from his work with New York’s Tri Angle Records, Fis offers two haunting, psychotropic cuts, plus the release comes complete with title track remixes from Germany’s Kassem Mosse and Austrailian composer and multi-intrumentalist Oren Ambarchi.

Speech Spirits is out September 8th via Loopy. Stream clips below:

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
