Exclusive Premiere: Unknown Poets – Chucho (Duss Remix)

It’s Monday and after a heavy weekend we could do with a pick me up in the office. Step forward hype generating Polish duo Duss with a fresh remix of their equally fresh electronic counterparts Unknown Poets. For those not yet familiar with Duss, the pairing from Bydgoszcz are the outfit taking the scene by storm with their impassioned performances across Europe. Upon meeting the two instantly hit it off with common hobbies, musical belief and a desire to create; all quickly leading to the two producing their first productions together. About their productions and remixes themselves, both say, ” it is like believing in God, or you have it in your heart or not” – an accurate observation at a time when over all the scene many artists sacrifice artistic integrity for money and fame.

So after spending the last few years ever raising their performance standard and finding their productions in the record bags of some of the scenes most prominent artists it finally seems like they are finally ready to break their signature sound to an international audience this summer with a series of high profile gigs and hotly anticipated releases.

This afternoon we have the pleasure of showcasing their rework of Unknown Poets excellent ‘Chucho’ on Electricity Limitedas they breathe new life into laid back, lazy, after party oriented Original Mix by installing a far more driving edge intended for peak time usage at any good techno party. Speaking on the remix Duss revealed that they sought to uncover a different side to their sound stating: “You can see and hear our alter ego here. Bearing in mind very deep house mood of Unknown Poets’ original mix we wanted to go in totally different direction. We relied on a strong, Drumcode-ish beat. There were no compromises in this case. We’ve tested it out a few times already and we know it is doing the right job on any dancefloor. Some say “less is more”. With this track we agree!”

Exciting times lay ahead for both we’re sure.

Out on May 5th you can get an exclusive sneak preview of the remix below:

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
