Fans of the site may have noticed that we’re quite the fans of fast rising Newcastle based DJ and producer Cristoph with the artist making several appearances on DT’s pages, most notably the premiering of his excellent Big H EP on Vancouver based imprint Nordic Trax last year.

Since then we’re pleased to report that the uber talented Cristoph has seen his career go from strength to strength with the release of a series of well received releases on the likes of DFTD, Extended Play, Underground Audio, Nordic Trax, Relux Underground and Blue Dye to name but a few.

Now, following hot on the heels of his ‘Right Now EP’, Cristoph returns to take over the curation of DFTD’s first compilation; VLM01. Featuring no less than five exclusive remixes from Cristoph, alongside Tube & Berger’s exclusive reworking of NiCe7‘s ‘Time To Get Physical’, as well as many highlights from the labels first year in existence, this compilation is a master class in modern house music and an unrivalled glance into the ever growing Defected sub label; DFTD. To celebrate the release we’ve hooked up with Cristoph to exclusively premiere his rework of fellow DT favourite Sonny Fodera’s ‘Lighthouse’ featuring Natalie Conway on vocal duties.

Guaranteed to get you in the mood for the summer you can pre-order your copy of VLM01 at: http://po.st/dftdvlm1

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
