We’ve teamed up with our good friends at Toolroom Records, to bring you an exclusive first listen of Doorly’s new collaboration with dance icon Todd Terry.

Taken from the first EP in a new series called Doorly & Friends, ‘On A Mission (Doorly Re-Chunk)’ offers pure, unadulterated house. Driving percussion, warped vocals, acidic undertones… everything you need to get the party started is there in abundance. The release is then completed by another collaboration, this time with DJ Pierre.

Doorly was over the moon at the chance to work with the likes of Terry: “They say you should never meet your Idols… Screw that!” he says. “If you’d have told me ten years ago that I would have some Todd Terry drums to collaborate with, I would have thought you were mental. If there’s one instrument or sound that’s influenced me more than anything else, then it’s those raw, uncompromising drum sounds of his. You can’t beat those brave, distorted, chunky grooves. Todd Terry is easily one of my biggest musical influences and now a good mate.”

Doorly & Friends 01 is set to drop via the Toolroom Beatport on October 27th.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
