Exclusive Premiere: Blocks & Escher – Calla

As we celebrate hitting 2 million plays on Soundcloud, there’s no slowing down here at Data Transmission. We’ve got a special treat for you lovely readers today, an exclusive premiere from dynamic double act Blocks & Escher. Following Sunday’s promo video, which plays like a tripped out David Attenborough documentary, we’re proud to present the full stream of ‘Calla’.

Taken from the duo’s upcoming release on their own Narratives Music (a label which has quickly become one of our favourite boutique outlets), ‘Calla’ sees Blocks & Escher return on form. The pair dish out sporadic percussion and subtle bass in a similar vein to Narratives inaugural EP, ‘Sagan’ / ‘Broken’. A progression beyond mere drum & bass, the track’s structure is forward-thinking, yet the sonics themselves pay homage to the past.
