It’s Friday and we’re in a good mood here at DT HQ. To celebrate the fact that the weekend is nearly here we have another exclusive premiere from Bebe Black to get you in the party mood. One of the scenes fastest rising stars, Bebe Black much like electro queen Uffie has shunned the lure of trying to conform to pop world stereotypes and embarked on a unique musical journey completely of her own design.

Citing old-school Madonna, Siouxsie Sioux and Kate Bush as her influences, the singer-songwriter from Dorset, Bebe is a former fashion student who’s naturally defiant attitude and spirit is perfectly illustrated by her single ‘I’ll Wait’ which lands on October 27th.

Speaking of how writing the track changed her life and gave her the courage to follow the dreams of making a name for herself in the music industry she said: ‘I could’ve stayed and settled, and know that I never give it a shot, or I could do it and at least know that I’d tried.’

With lyrics such as “I cut my hair when you said you liked it long,” she sings, over determined drums and a swirling piano melody, “I wrote about sex when you preferred a love song.” This, I’ll Wait declares, is not your typical pop song and today’s premiere, an excellent remix from Karma Kid retains the off kilter edge of the original whilst exploring a more house orientated avenue. This is when Bebe met House. Check it out below.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
