Since popping up late in 2011, things have all gone a bit crazy in the world of Evian Christ. The young Merseyside artist saw instant success with his breakthrough mix-tape ‘Kings And Them’, performed around the world with the likes of Actress and Four Tet, and even produced for Kanye West’s ‘Yeezus’ album.

Now he’s back and what he is selling is pants. Literally. No, not ones he’s worn – get your mind out of the gutter – but boxer shorts adorned with his name as in true Del Boy style… we mean entrepreneurial fashion Evian has ordered 500 pairs of them that fans will be able to purchase at his shows. We’re informed that he didn’t mean to order 500 pairs and the large order comes as a result of some miscommunication with the Chinese manufacturer but we’re glad he did as that sorts our this years Christmas presents. You’re getting Evian Christ pants. All of you. Even you Grandma.

Speaking to Fader he explains how the venture inadvertently gathered steam “The boxers were made in China; it was the most insane process because the guy barely spoke English. I didn’t really intend to make 500 but that’s sort of what I ended up with. Ideally I would have got 100. And then they got held up in customs in the UK, I didn’t realize you had to pay a huge customs charge, I had these boxers just like trapped. I had to declare that there were 500 boxer shorts with ‘Evian Christ’ on them. It’s been a real journey.”

Grab yourself a pair at Evian Christ’s Trance Party next Friday at Corsica Studios.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
