Ever since they announced themselves as the producers behind collaborative project Dog Blood we been following  what at first seemed to us to be an incredibly unlikely partnership bass impresario Skrillex and electro/techno whizz-kid Boys Noize with great interest. Their last EP under the moniker, ‘Middle Finger Pt. 2’  contained 3 new cuts with 2 remixes of the title track ‘and was the first work by the pairing as Dog Blood since originally incepting the partnership.

Naturally the release continued the eclectic theme of their original productions together, drawing influence from across the musical spectrum with bass, rave and electro dominating their material but we did wonder where the project may head next for 2014. The answer? A new remix EP with reworks from some of electronic music’s most respected names with Detroit techno pioneer Kevin Saunderson, fast rising Parisian Bambounou and Alesia amongst the names drafted in to re-imagine the material.

With  further remixes from the DJ Sliink, Bok Bok and S-Type we’re sure both fans of Boys Noize and Skrillex will enjoy the new EP which will no doubt  still carry elements of the trademark abrasive sounds in the various genres the two inhabit.

Check out the Alesia Remix of Middle Finger Pt. 2’  before the full remix package drops on March 3rd below:

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
