Defected Records are launching a new breakout label in early June! It will be called DFTD and will release a broader range of electronic music than its parent label taking undiscovered fresh new talent from across the world, whilst of course throwing out a release or two from more established acts.

Easing us into the label their first release will be Guti‘s ‘Hope’ EP (have a listen below) which is released 3rd June, a man whose previous releases on Cadenza and Desolat make him the latter of the previous statement. Further releases will come from the likes of Pitto, J Cub, Raw District and Art of Tones, with additional announcements being made in the coming weeks. The label will also be focusing strongly on events and touring, with an impressive summer residency at Ushuaia Tower already in the bag who knows what else they have coming up. With the visuals having been created by renowned designer, Trevor Jackson the future definitely looks bright for DFTD

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
