Debut Transmission: The Mekanism – On The Beat

VIS285 Packshot

Parisian house music has a long and illustrious past with the French capital continuing to be a hotbed of electronic music to this day. One of the new school of the French house scene who we’ve long had our eye on is a charismatic young producer who goes by the name of The Mekanism and looks set to continue adding to the rich  musical history of Paris for the foreseeable future. In a very short period of time the young French producer has created an international following well received releases on Needwant and Exploited.

For his next release and this mornings Debut Transmission he joins Ralph Lawson’s 20/20 Vision label with this ‘Revolution EP’.  We premiere the excellently inventive ‘On The Beat’ is much more playful, loopy and loose. With sweeping filters and ditty chord stabs it really works you into a lather as it twists and turns on squelchy synths and busy bass patterns.

The Mekanism “Revolution EP” with be out on 2020 Vision on 19th February 2016

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
