International artists are known for being late. The pop and rock world is littered with innumerable examples of stars showing up several hours late for scheduled performances much to the annoyance of their fans often for little other reason than diva behavior.  David Guetta’s reason for missing the majority of his closing set at Creamfields on Sunday night however had a slightly more severe explanation with the festivals Facebook page revealing that the French DJ and producers plane had caught fire just before taking off  and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike would in for him whilst he was en route to the festival.

The post read: “Due to David Guetta’s plane catching fire on the runway as he was about to take off he has had to find alternative flight arrangements BUT he is on his way and will be performing tonight. In the meantime Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike will be playing from 9:45 with David Guetta to follow.”

David eventually made it down but many fans were disappointed not to see the crossover start in action for the full duration of his set. Better late than never David!
