Dance Mania to release DJ Funk Greatest Hits collection

Iconic Chicago imprint Dance Mania are set to release a new triple-disc greatest hits album from DJ Funk, celebrating two decades of music from the ghetto/booty house pioneer.’DJ Funk Gold – 20th Anniversary Greatest Hits’ collects 43 of Funk’s most successful tracks, including ‘House the Groove’, ‘Knock Knock’ and ‘Booty Bounce’. Plus, the final CD is reserved for Funk’s ‘Gold Megamix’, which we assume will see the DJ dropping a host of his much-loved, luridly-titled productions.Following the release of the collection on September 5th, Funk has a series of album tours planned, including a trip to the UK and Europe in October, before heading back to the US for a run of shows lasting until March 2015. Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
