Fans of Daft Punk who were left a little disappointed after the release of their much anticipated album Random Access Memories were pleased to hear that the duo confirm in interviews that for the first time they would be remixing one of their own albums. Whilst being interviewed by BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong the pairing first revealed plans for revisiting their own work “We’re working on some mixes ourselves,” Thomas Bangalter said. “So yes, there will probably be Daft Punk mixes of Daft Punk. Usually we never mix ourselves, that’s something we feel we’re interested in doing this time.”

This teasing statement was then followed up with them confirming that hit single ‘Get Lucky’ featuring Pharrell Williams and disco legend Nile Rodgers  would be the first effort to be reworked by them with stating “The first track we’re remixing is ‘Get Lucky‘. That will be out by the end of June.”

So with the remixes of RAM confirmed for release the real question was in which direction where the helmet wearing Frenchmen take the releases? Well the wait to answer that question to a certain extent is over after the duo unveiled the remix for the album’s hit single ‘Get Lucky’

Check  out the remix  and a promo video for the entire remix album below.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
