Daedelus announces new album for Brainfeeder

daedelus.pngLongstanding Los Angeles producer Daedelus has announced his return to Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder imprint for his new album ‘The Light Brigade’.

Out September 30th, the album “recalls the Crimean war of 1853-56”, neatly following up his 2009 ‘Righteous Fists Of Harmony’ EP inspired by the Boxer Rebellion. The promo informs us that “the music was written and recorded before the recent troubles broke out in that region, a turn of events which lends an air of requiem to the album.”‘The Light Brigade’ invokes the power of Lord Alfred Tennyson’s famous poem, charging through rich textured electronics and haunting vocals. The album echoes the glory and devastation of war, the latter of which is evident in ‘Onward’, a mournful ballad featuring the vocals of previous collaborator Young Dad, check it out here: soundcloud.com/brainfeeder/daedelus-onward

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
