Check Out Andrew Weatherall & Sean Johnston b2b at Basics

Share

From our musically formative teenage years all the through to adulthood and alleged maturity one of the things that has stayed constant is our love and appreciation for the performances and productions of industry maverick Andrew Weatherall. Whether it be closing set of the Warehouse Project, a tent at a festival, a tiny event like Naïve Melody (home to some of the best nights we’ve ever had) or a one deck session at a pub in Manchester, Andrew has always delivered the goods with his sets often as surprising as they were interesting.

Then’s there’s Andrew’s A Love From Outer Space co-founder Sean ‘Hardway Bros’ Johnston who has long been one of our (and anyone else who has seen him play) favorite selectors. So when we heard that the pair had come together for a special ALFOS b2b set at iconic Leeds based night Back 2 Basics with new visuals we were expecting big things and from after watching the video we’re sure you’ll agree they haven’t disappointed.

After it’s initial inception nearly a year ago, this concept of incasing the DJ within the visuals had sat firmly in a cold damp warehouse with only an example video online to show for it. That was until Simon Fong Wah got involved, bringing it to the attention of promoter Dave Beer who teamed up with Zeon Sam to install it for the Back 2 Basics.  Check it out for yourself below.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
