Caruana Presents Lands In Southampton
When you consider that she only began DJing at the tail-end of 2014, it’s been a rapid rise for Southampton’s Caruana. It wasn’t long into that journey when she started to grab the attention of her local scene. By the start of 2016 she had bagged herself a residency at Junk – the south-coast’s premier nightspot for underground music. Since then she’s also been snapped-up as resident for the Social festival and the bookings have been rolling-in left, right & centre!
Junk clearly knew they were onto a winner. And now they’re re-investing some of that trust by giving Caruana her own night to curate. On Saturday 12th August Caruana Presents launches as a platform to showcase music which best represents the host, as well as inviting some of her friends along for the occasion.
First down is Fin Evans, who’ll be making the short hop from Brighton. Fin has had releases on BEAT Music, OneFold Records and Soundspace. A fan of everything from tech house to bass-ier sounds and still only 21, he is another DJ with a promising future ahead of him. Beth & Fin will be joined by a couple of DJs from the South East who’ll be making their way along the coast to Junk.
The first is Joe Wheeler. Joe can count Alex Arnout amongst his biggest admirers, and is widely regarded as a hot tip for the future. He can regularly be seen spinning at notorious London afterhours DAWN, in the LED-lit arch of Lightbox, Vauxhall. Originally from Ramsgate, Joe spends him summer between the UK and Ibiza, where he plays for Unusual Suspects at Sankeys.
The second is Roger That. Much like Beth, Roger has risen-up the ranks in a relatively short space of time. It’s testament to the argument that getting your head down and grafting hard will get you to where you want to be. He runs his own club night Habitat, where Beth was recently invited to play. So it was a natural decision for her to return the favour.
