CamelPhat release their brand new album ‘Spiritual Milk’

Multi-platinum, GRAMMY-nominated DJ and producers Dave Whelan and Mike Di Scala aka duo CamelPhat have today released their brand new album ‘Spiritual Milk’ via their own label When Stars Align.

Following their 2020 album ‘Dark Matter,’ ‘Spiritual Milk’ delves into the evolution of the duo’s ground-breaking sound. A defining statement of how far they’ve come and how they plan to conquer further. Now out of isolation, back into the clubs, and free to roam the world, the album celebrates life and never takes anything for granted.

Their hard work, combined with their raw talent for creating seamless and effortlessly infectious floor fillers, have further established their legacy as one of the most credible and multi-faceted electronic acts in the game right now.

The Key tracks on the Album:

The latest single ‘Hope’ ft Max Milner, the euphoric ‘Embers’ with Shimza and Julia Church, and the absolute weapon that is the stomping beat of ‘Compute’ ft Ali Love which samples Kraftwerk’s iconic ‘Computer Love,’ the hypnotic collaboration ‘Many Times’ with Mathame and Frýnn, the soaring ‘Higher’ with London Grammar and the guitar-infused album closer, the triumphant ‘Love Is Something’ ft Jake Bugg showcase their insatiable synergy with all genres.

Speaking about the album, CAMELPHAT said: “We’ve felt a lot less pressure delivering this record possibly due to the fact it’s on our label (WSA), but also we’re at a point in our career where we can possibly afford to be more expressive and less fearful about what other people think. It has definitely come from the heart and feels honest both as writers and musicians. We’ve had fun with it; we’ve made music less with the dance floor in mind and more with our emotions. The whole thing came together surprisingly very easily.  “Spiritual Milk” is a listening album that takes your mind away from everyday life. The name itself has captured the overall essence of the album perfectly.  Take the trip & enjoy the ride.”

For the album artwork, CAMELPHAT wanted to explore the idea of ‘electronic trip’ and ‘modern psychedelic’ artwork and happened upon Niko Christian’s (aka c-nik) surreal designs. Niko is a multidisciplinary artist based in the US, working to create peace from chaos in surreal arcs of light, life, and time and developing the idea that you can touch heaven from anywhere.

This album is another masterpiece of sound design, moments, game-changing ideas, and on-point current sounds. Well done lads!

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
