SunIce Winter Edition cements its place as one of the best snow and music festivals in Europe

SunIce Festival just reminded everyone why a blowout in the Alps is the perfect way to see off winter. Its 2025 edition, from 17–20 April, transformed St. Moritz into a high-altitude rave-meets-retreat for close to 20,000 like-minded music lovers. 

St. Moritz is one of Europe’s most luxurious ski resorts, so the whole four days is steeped in class and style with world-class music, snow sports and seriously good apres-ski. This all makes it like a kind of Coachella in the snow, but with better views, better food, and way more fondue.

The 2025 Winter Edition took the immersive production to new heights…quite literally. Highlights included a futuristic, transparent Techno Dome, a visually striking open-air main stage complete with pyrotechnics, and a scenic, sun-drenched layout that turned the snowy landscape into a vibrant dancefloor, all with a distinctive mix of melodic techno, house and amapiano.

Artists like Shimza, Marten Lou, Agents of Time, and Mason Collective held down the dome with deep, rhythmic sets, while CamelPhat, Lilly Palmer, and Alex Wann delivered peak-time energy on the main stage. Argy, Fideles, and Levi also impressed, performing against the festival’s signature alpine backdrop, so whatever your favour, from melodic techno to Afro house and big-room anthems, the soundscape hits just right in the crisp Alpine air.

But what really makes SunIce stand out is that it’s about more than just music. You’re partying 1,800m above sea level, surrounded by snow-capped peaks, open-air stages with fire and lights, and transparent domes where you can rave under the stars, sun or the snow. 

During the day, you can hit the slopes for skiing or snowboarding, jump on a snowmobile, or just relax at one of St. Moritz’s five-star spas. There are gourmet food trucks, luxury hotels, and some seriously boujee vibes that make for a unique mix of adventure and indulgence that feels a world away from your usual muddy field fest.

And even though it’s luxe, it’s not just for high-rollers. Whether you’re going all-out with VIP hospitality or keeping it simple with a hostel bed, the festival is perfect if you like music with a view, love a bit of adrenaline with your afterparty, or just want to swap your wellies for snow boots

True to its name, SunIce isn’t just a winter affair. The festival will return for its Summer Edition from 18–20 September 2025, this time moving lakeside to Lido Ascona, Switzerland. Expect more carefully curated lineups, standout staging, and a shift from snow to sunshine.
