Jingle Bells! No our calendar hasn’t gone awry here at Data Transmission we’re just getting in the festive mood early following reports in Miami at this years Winter Music Conference, that EDM superstar Avicii is set to undertake his biggest project yet: record a Christmas Album for 2014.  Slated for an early December release, news of the  unconventional album follows hot on the heels of his Country vibed tracks that dominated 2013 and the start of this years such as ‘Wake Me Up’ & ‘Hey Brother’, that everyone wrongly poured scorn upon at last years WMC.  Now, looking at how that worked out in the case of smash hit ‘Wake me Up’ we wouldn’t be too quick to condemn the chances of Avicii’s  attempt at recording the first full blown Christmas dance album complete with Christmas Jingle bells and whistles similarly capturing the publics imagination and storming the charts. Love him or hate him, it’s hard to see the affable Swede not adding yet another platinum plaque to his wall when his EDM re-imagining of some of favourite Christmas carols arrives this December.  We’re expecting this album to end up bigger than Santa’s belly…

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
