Amy Root announce their debut EP ‘Lynn’

Classically trained musicians and with a passion for the arts running through their veins from an early age, burgeoning Dutch producers Lukas Amer and Sjoerd Huissoon fortuitously met one another at the Conservatory of Rotterdam, University of Arts in 2017.

After working separately on a number of diverse musical projects for many years, they quickly discovered they shared a passion for similar electronic music, which led to the newly formed act Amy Root — a brand new artist project characterised by tight emotive beats, exhilarating harmonies and diverse global influences.

Their debut EP, ‘Lynn’ which comes out via Reflektor Records on November 9th draws inspiration from the likes of Jon Hopkins, Bonobo and Jamie XX, exploring multiple world music cultures within a familiar, yet exciting framework. From Japanese drums, Bulgarian choral music, South African percussion and more, the enigmatic duo brings their music to an exciting and surprising new way of experiencing dance music.

We premiere ‘Luna’ of the EP today, check it out below and grab a copy here.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
