Abstract Division Return With ‘Metropolis’

DREF025 Artwork-1

Dutch duo Abstract Division present ‘Metropolis’ on their own Dynamic Reflection imprint. An original cut by the pairing is given the techno royalty treatment with rerubs from Ostgut Ton veterans Function and Marcel Fengler and Oscar Mulero takes us for a ride under his Trolley Route guise.

The original pays homage to the Motor City itself with certain nods to certain unmistakable sounds derived from the motherland, Detroit. ‘Metropolis’ takes us on an optimistic journey with nothing to stop the party throughout. Trolley Route’s rendition goes on a deeper, dubbed out course with ominous percussion sitting warily in the background. Function, in true Function fashion, delivers a hard hitting kick and, staying a true to the original, keeps the arpeggio driven synth line as the centre piece, this time with a lot more emotion. Finally, Fengler offers a less polished rendition, creating chaos with his drum work and noisy interludes while never shying away from the epic hook which maintains its integrity throughout.

Arriving June 22nd you can check out the video for ‘Metropolis’ below.
