MATVEÏ will release his ‘TALES FOR NIGHTCLUBS’ EP, accompanied by a new track ‘TE NECESITO¡!’, on 25th March.
The new EP released through Kitsuné Musique, showcases his diverse production style across three originals, that Channel a heady dose of 90s house-tinged nostalgia, coupled with brainy, modern electronic elements.
Matveï is a one to watch for the new generation. Brought up on a steady diet of Electronic and Rap music, the French producer concocts an exciting cocktail of international house and urban club sounds. Spotted by Kitsuné Musique while just turning 18, his first releases quickly raised his profile on global tastemaker’s radar
He says: ‘It all started with a rough acoustic guitar demo that had been sitting in my hard drive for 2 years. One day I stumbled upon Melika’s vocal performances and connected with them instantly, so I reached out and after 3 months of conversations, we finalised her top-line. I had a very clear vision for this song from the beginning; I wanted to create a beautiful, highly melodic tune with Spanish vocals and acoustic guitars mixed with electronic elements (the vocoder and house beat for instance). Despite making about 30 versions of it, the song is finally yours and I couldn’t be happier with it.”
About the EP: “The songs on this EP, TALES FOR NIGHTCLUBS are a rough and experimental series of sonic stories I’ve released throughout the year, culminating as a trilogy. This new project is focused on melodic club ideas, with minor chord progressions and a particular focus on percussion sound design.”
