Hack the DJ: How to pitch music to Blogs, Playlists and Press with Sarah Foote (Favourtizm)
Using blogs, playlists and press are now the biggest ways to get your music more reach. In this video, Grahame Farmer chats to publicists Sarah Foote at our Hack the DJ event for International Women’s Day.
DJ / producer Sarah has been sharing her sounds around the globe for 20 years, gracing the decks of festivals and clubs in Miami, New York, Dubai, ibiza, Croatia, Italy and beyond. She first cut her teeth in the music industry at the Art Desk of Mixmag in the mid Nineties before taking the Art Editor position at NME. She launched her Favouritizm brand in 2001, hosting parties all over London and subsequently launched a record label and PR & Radio plugging company, working with some of the best names in the biz from Darren Emerson, Prince, DJ Sneak, Saytek, Junior Jack & Tube & Berger, Kevin Saunderson to David Morales and more. As an artist she’s turned her hand to many musical projects including her Ridney & Julie McKnight mash up ‘Home Sweetest Home’ played on BBC Radio One by Danny Howard and is also one half of the quirky electronic dance duo Vanni & Fav with Alex Vanni.
Grahame & Sarah chatted about promoting yourself as an artist in the press and gaining yourself more exposure on your releases and events.
