Goth or indie? Electronic or acoustic? If you’ve been struggling with an existential musical crisis recently, then you’ll be delighted by one of 2016’s most genre-diverse lineups for Southern California’s roster of fall music festivals. The Growlers Presents Beach Goth Festival returns for its fifth round on October 22 and 23 at its new and improved venue of Oak Canyon Park in Orange County, less than two hours south of Los Angeles. The festival is ideal for those looking for a more adventurous experience before the Halloween rush the weekend after.
Beach Goth Fest boasts an incredible array of musical acts including headliners indie folk band Bon Iver, French electro duo Justice (DJ Set), Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane, English singer and songwriter James Blake, and bass music big RL Grime to name a few. In addition to the wave of big names, the smaller print acts are also noteworthy. From the scenic sounds of Nicholas Jaar to witchhouse and synthwave with Cold Cave and Trust to a long-awaited Westside return of Ed Banger’s SebastiAn, it will be an interesting blend of partygoers and curated talent alike.
With a generous mishmash of genres represented in the span of two days, aesthetic differences can be set aside for the sake of good music and a good time. This is the chance for rockers, goths, hipsters, and hippies to come together for an all-out rage session. Check out the entire lineup below.
Beach Goth Fest will take place outdoors at an idyllic space that has hosted The Do Lab’s Woogie Weekend and Dirtybird Campout, with lakeside views and plenty of grass to frolic around to jams and beats.
2-Day GA and VIP Passes go on-sale Friday at 10AM PST on Beach Goth Fest’s official site. Don’t sleep on it, and let’s get spooky.
