Kyrist drops her ‘Bad Omen’ EP on Dispatch
Dispatch 139 sees the return of Kyrist to the label for a varied 5 track EP. Choosing collaborators and remixers that form an inspiration to her own productions, this EP is a snapshot of the current styles and sounds that make Kyrist’s DJ sets so unique.
Since her early years, Kyrist grew up surrounded by music provided by both parents. She found herself mixing at the young age of 12 and found her passion for D&B not long after.
Over the last few years Kyrist has built a reputation around her trademark style, which mainly focuses on the darker and more tech-driven side of D&B. In the process has seen her tunes included in the sets of some of the scenes most respected DJ’s.
Labels such as Proximity, Nurtured Beatz, Vandal, Dutty Audio and of course Dispatch have been the foundation of Kyrist’s success. Solid releases on those imprints coupled with her razor-sharp mixing skills are the reason she’s so highly rated and heavily tipped for a big future.
Kyrist is already receiving huge support from the likes of Noisia, Ant TC1, Kasra, Emperor, Skeptical, Lenzman, Xtrah, Chris.SU, to name a few, and her future is looking incredibly bright too, with the new found status as a Dispatch Recordings resident.
Our premiere is the brilliant ‘Empyrean’ on which she collaborates with Philth. You can expect to hear this techy roller on heavy rotation.
Kyrist’s ‘Bad Omen’ EP is out on Dispatch on 29th July. Check out ‘Empyrean’ below and grab a copy of the EP here
