Champagne Breakfast drops ‘Focal’ EP on Monk Audio

This month’s release on Monk Audio comes from an artist from the south of England called Champagne Breakfast AKA Louis Clifford Birbeck with his new EP ‘Focal’. He has been cutting his teeth as a DJ for a while now, with many notable sets alongside huge names like Serial Killaz and Serum amongst others. His accomplished selection has seen him travel across the country on multiple occasions to lay down the vibes. This is of little surprise though due to having been introduced to Drum & Bass music at the early age of 10. Recently though his efforts have focused more focus on channelling his energy into music production. ‘Focal’, which is his second EP, shows the more soulful side to his sound and is an effort to incorporate his well-rounded music taste into his own tracks. 

The title track ‘Focal’ is a dreamy number, with a playful vocal sample, lush atmosphere and rolling lower frequencies that come together to deliver uplifting feelings to the listener. 

Next up is Goliath’ which is a gorgeous amen driven track with a warm Reese running through it, complemented with airy textures and pads. This one is sure to have you yearning for the brighter days. 

Lastly, we have ‘Tohoku Highway’. This is probably the highest energy track on the release yet continues with the predominantly soulful theme of the project. The infectious lead synth and string work round off the EP in a strong fashion.
