AON drops debut EP ‘Moonlight’
AON has been making a name for himself in the Drum & Bass scene for the best part of decade. He has been performing at prestigious venues and festivals around the world and his debut release the ‘Moonlight’ EP has been very highly anticipated.
Since AON‘s recent appearance on our Renegade Riddims mix series, I have been waiting on bated breath for this release. I was blown away by the high production standard when I received the promo for ‘Moonlight’.
The lead track from the EP and our premiere ‘Moonlight’ makes use of long-time fellow producer, Spectre and the highly talented Megan Nurse. The track personifies the collective’s musical journies. They have been in the same friendship circle since they were all teenagers. The trio has shared many musical experiences over the years, making this track such a solidifying moment.
The rest of the EP makes use of AON‘s full spectrum approach to DJing. It features tracks which could be classified as Jungle, Jump-Up, Liquid, and various other corners of the Drum & Bass spectrum. Following an exciting DJ career and working as a Drum & Bass specialist for BBC Introducing, AON now adds his first official release to his growing list of accolades.
The 4 track EP symbolizes different musical and life experiences. These experiences came to prominence in the 2020 Lockdown when searching for fresh inspiration.
The EP marks the next chapter of this young artist’s musical journey. And we can’t wait to see how far he can go!
