Nico Mendez returns to his Johnny Johnny label with a heavy-duty EP

Nico Mendez returns after his hiatus with a heavy-duty EP to spearhead 2021 his first release of the year on Johnny Johnny.

‘The Trip’ EP is a package put together with weighty momentum at the forefront! The lead track ‘Do It’ is coated with signature Nico quips that eventually open up to a full-frontal assault of acid house energy. Layered with a catchy vocal hook sample this one definitely peak time pitter-patter.

Our premiere ‘M-Train’ carries a whole other acid house steeze. Self-sustained clever grooves and subtle manipulation of resonance and envelops let this track keep on giving effortlessly. With a simple siren sample and field recordings of Glasgow’s infamous subway system.

Nico’s pieced together a seriously efficient tune. To bring the EP off Nico’s has recruited long time and close friend Little By Little for remix duties. Jean’s own flavours and powerful energy really brings a whole new peak to the lead track ‘Do It’. Without altering the main samples to much LBL cleverly added even more peak-time power with a thudder of a Techno edit.

Check out ‘M-Train’ on Data Transmission today and grab it on Beatport.
