Lex Valverde turns up the pressure with 'Interference' on MotL Records

Lex Valverde lands on David Tort’s MotL Records on 14th August with ‘Interference’, a stripped-back club weapon sitting neatly between tech house and techno.

The Mexican DJ and producer started 2026 by retiring his Better Than Lex alias and switching to his real surname, marking a more personal chapter without losing the dancefloor instincts built up along the way.

And ‘Interference’ gets straight to work. A relentless synth riff sits front and centre, backed by thick drums, rolling bass and plenty of low-end pressure. The arrangement stays tight, letting that central hook grind away while small changes in tension keep the track moving. It is the sort of record made for the point where a dark room has properly settled into its stride.

David Tort describes Lex as one of the most exciting talents he has supported, and it is easy to hear why MotL feels like a natural home. The label has built its name around functional, underground club music, and Lex Valverde’s ‘Interference’ fits the brief without overcomplicating things.
