Acid Jerks announce their ‘Atomic’ EP

Share

Acid Jerks drop an absolutely killer slab of nasty, gnarly, sleazy, chuggy, distorted acid. Crunched-up percussion percolates a menacing 303 bass snarl as Mikey V’s hypnotic spoken word vocal does its thing over the top. Minimal in approach but maximal in effect, it’s an understated, underground bruiser.

ADMN strips it back further on the remix, upping the squelchy acid resonance, slowing the tempo and adding shimmering, haunting pads to make for an even darker twist. Boogs & Ben Silver provide a deep-yet-thumping remix of the original, ‘Atomic’, where warm electric piano chord stabs soften the tonking kick drums and the acid is kept on a leash, muted deep down in the mix.

We premiere the original on Data Transmission today, check it out here and grab it here – https://lnk.to/RFGV004

A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
