Weiss was one of our favourite new producers to emerge in 2013, with his work on Mark Knight’s in-flux Toolroom imprint very much marking him out as one to keep a close eye on. For his most recent release, the British producer serves up only one track – but what a track it is!

The EP, then, is very much one where quantity over quality is the prevailing though. Sure, a remix would have been welcome, but on the plus side, it allows the track at hand to stand on its own two feet, while also cannily emphasizing its own individual appeal.

Built around a sample from soul veteran Al Green, the instantly infectious track grabs our attention from the first beat, with the vocals from ”Love And Happiness” providing a unusual but very welcome soulful edge. Full of guile and spirit, it’s a track that’ll move the ‘floor and tempt the ladies to get on down too. If Henrik Schwarz did this, we’d be proclaiming it a piece of genius from the get-go. As it is, the work of Weiss seems to get stronger with every passing release.
