What can we say about Danny Tenaglia that hasn’t already been said? A true living legend, he’s also one of the nicest and most genuine producers in the industry. With that said it was great to hear that he would be picking up his record bag for another tour of Europe. Egg club was Danny’s choice for a special London performance and boy he didn’t disappoint. The club themselves are still enjoying their fresh refurbishment and have been soaking up the praise with packed houses all summer long. More to the point they are continuing to draft in some outstanding artists from both house and techno to compile eye catching line-ups that haven’t gone unnoticed within the London electronic music scene.

Tonight was not only the return of Danny, but also the 5th birthday of Supernova, headed by the main man himself.  A statement of intent, the New York native portrayed a main room thumper, chugging out the finest records from his vast locker. Danny, a natural technician behind the decks blended some raw and vocal tinged house upon his faithful onlookers and extended his set for a mere 7 and 1/2 hours until 11.30am.

A special mention needs to go to DEMI who was Danny’s choice for the warm up. DEMI even played some fresh cuts from his latest album due out soon, which got one of the biggest reactions from the crowd during the start of what was to be such an epic night.

Room 2 was hit by Cera Alba who has had a big year of his own, following up from releases on Hot Waves and Inner Circle. He had the audience rocking all night and it was safe to say the crowd certainly played their part throughout. They were in complete amazement with the quality of music punching through the newly installed stackers. However it was Danny that stole the show and that could not be overlooked,  with the headliner adorned in a very special Egg t-shirt designed by himself which was revealed to the crowd to a rapturous reaction. It was certainly easy to notice the new Flipside soundsystem that was fresh for the nights show with the system standing out all on its own and certainly playing its part throughout the soiree.

After finishing his marathon performance Danny still had time to thank the crowd, staff and technicians who he gracefully applauded for the making the night such a success.

Jotting through the dancefloor it wasn’t difficult to notice that this was one performance on the brand new soundsystem was one of the highlights of an amazing summer for the club. Egg has had a change in direction with its interior, offering a new system, lighting panels and extra room for those folk who want to let loose and cut those proverbial shapes. We all look forward to an exciting end to the summer and to see what’s in store for their Autumn and Winter seasons.
