On the Road with… MistaJam

We’ve had many an ex / landlord / investor screaming it at us whilst we’ve happily carried on, sending trolling messages via telagram, mailing out Data Transmission Mix Cassettes and continuing to categorise US coverage on our site under the tab “Elsewhere in the British Empire” however even we’ve now decided it’s probably time for Data Transmission to modernise.

Our editor went to a very interesting lecture recently on the ‘Future Of Media’ and whilst admitting “I left 15 minutes in-” he thought he’d heard it had something to do with most people nowadays having a far shorter attention span than previously. Consequently, we’re now proud to unveil the latest string to Data Transmission TV’s ever widening bow: our On The Road Series which, like Sky, will give you access to behind the scenes content from some of the world’s most celebrated international DJs, on demand. Unlike Sky, you probably won’t get to see people naked after 9pm, but then again isn’t that what the internet is for?

Kicking off the series in style is Radio 1 selector, actor and all round good time guy MistaJam, who allowed our cameras to follow him around as he crammed three very different gigs into 24 hours.

Discussing everything from “dirty kebabs” to warm up sets and selfies, the weekend was certainly one we’ll remember. Check out how we got on for yourself below.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
