Label: Boys Noize Records
Release Date: March 2013

When rave was at its peak in the early 90s, Brighton-based DJ-producer Dave Clarke was flying a flag for Detroit techno, Chicago acid and electro on his Magnetic North imprint, but released his Red trilogy on Eric Powell’s Bush in 1994 – to seismic effect.

When the tune became a devastating weapon in the hands of Clarke, Weatherall and countless others, techno was undergoing a revolution also headed by Berlin’s Basic ChannelRed 2’s hard, metallic grind became the most influential home-grown techno release of all time.

Now it’s reactivated by Boys Noize, who start the package with their Wild Pitch Mix, taking its name from DJ Pierre and employing similar stripped-down build. Marcel Dettman rides that riff into the 21st century, while A. Mochi supplies dramatic re-edit. The download adds two deeper versions by Steve Rachmad.

It doesn’t matter when this record was released and by who it still would be an underground hit. Now BNR have complimented the original with 4 excellent remixes by some of the techno scenes biggest names to pay homage to The Baron of Techno himself. Now one of our most respected electronic godfathers, check out where it all started for Dave Clarke.
