It appears as if the roster at Ram Records is ever increasing. After recently snapping up June Miller they’ve now added another talented beat maker to their ranks with newcomer, Chords.

The London based producer opens his Ram account with his debut single on the label, Biting Point. Having featured in Andy C sets the last few months, it’s a bouncing cut that’s aimed at the dance floor but with a musical core. From its euphoric intro, all distorted harmonies and keys it drops with some catchy synth stabs. It’s got elements of Culture Shock to the production. A splash of tech layered with untold amounts of funk. Ramping it up a notch on the flip is Amygdala, a riff-laden stepper filled with crunchy guitar stabs and twanging bass lines.

An impressive start for Chords, Biting Point has been getting the repeat treatment quite a bit since being sent over. Let us see what this young producer does next.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
