Balaton Sound Festival

Balaton Sound takes place from the 11th till the 15th July 2012 in Zamárdi, Hungary. They are boasting an incredible line-up this year with some collosal names including Armin Van Buuren, The Prodigy, Calvin Harris, Steve Aoki and Avicii.

Balaton Sound is the ultimate relax and party festival. In daytime the shallow lake is full with partygoers, playing in the water or taking a nap on lilos. In the afternoon there’s chilled out music on some stages but in the evening the festival is in full swing. At night it’s party time till the sun comes up and people take their first dive into the lake again. Lake Balaton is the biggest lake in Central Europe. In July the water has an avarage temperature of 22 degrees Celsius, the lake bed is sandy and the water is clean since there’s no industry. Since the lake is very shallow, it’s also a great dancefloor..The camping site, open from the 11th of July, is just besides the festival and costs 7 euro but you can also stay in one of the many hotels in Zamárdi or Siofok. Zamárdi is about 5 kilometers south from Siofok, the most important party town of Balaton, and easily reachable by train, taxi or with the Balaton Sound bus.
