389 – Hannah Holland

Every so often, amongst the Lithuanian gabba CDs, hopelessly small T-shirts and Inland Revenue notices, something lands on the DT desk that blows off our mismatched flip-flops off. The last time we used Bluetooth in the DT office was 2007 and the intern left after those pictures went viral. However Spaced 360 have taken things to an entirely new level with their new Bluetooth creation. It looks like one of Darth Vaders high school design projects and it sounds magnificent. An intense amount of reassuringly complicated science has gone creating a 360 sound – so stick this Transformers-also-ran anywhere: on your desk, under your bed, in the shower and it will still deliver fist-pumpingly, sex-face-ingly good beats.   To celebrate the speakers release we’ve hooked up with Batty Bass and Native City founder Hannah Holland (and fellow Spaced 360 fan) to deliver today’s exclusive podcast mix for your listening pleasure. One of the most respected figures on the London circuit, Hannah has long championed her own sound, a unique hybrid of house, techno and bass which has rocked crowds from the capital to Japan. So with our praise ringing in her ears we thought it was high time that we nabbed her considerable talents for our podcast series and shared her dexterity on the decks with all of you lovely people who haven’t yet been fortunate enough to catch her in the flesh for yourselves.  Enjoy.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
