Ronnie Spiteri finally lands on Hot Creations with ‘Double Up’

Share

Ronnie Spiteri makes his Hot Creations debut today, 7th August, with the two-track ‘Double Up’ release, and we’ve got the title track on premiere.

It’s been a long time coming too. Spiteri has followed Jamie Jones’ label since the early days, danced through more than a few Paradise sessions and spent over 13 years sending music across before finally getting the nod.

‘Double Up’ feels worth the wait. Ronnie Spiteri’s track goes darker and slightly stranger than his usual output, built around a warped breakdown, a thick rolling bassline and a slick rap vocal that gives the whole thing plenty of swagger without getting in the way of the groove.

The story moved quickly once the record was finished. Spiteri sent it to Jamie Jones on a Thursday, watched him play it alongside Joseph Capriati at Sonar two days later, and by the following Tuesday the track was signed.

That instinct for the dancefloor has served him well over the last decade. Alongside his Amnesia Ibiza residency, Ronnie has landed music on Knee Deep In Sound, Abracadabra, Positiva and Do Not Sleep, while continuing to run his own Kenja Records imprint.

‘Becca’s Booty’ completes the release with skippy drums and more of Ronnie’s trademark club energy, but today it’s all about ‘Double Up’.

A proper milestone release, and one built for sweaty rooms rather than trophy cabinets.

We premiere Ronnie Spiteri’s ‘Double Up’ below. Grab the full release now via Hot Creations.
